Staten Island is the farthest borough from our Rego Park base, so we take on larger projects there rather than one-day jobs: full bathrooms, kitchens, basement finishing and whole-floor renovations where a crew stays on site for weeks at a time.
The housing suits that kind of work. Detached and semi-detached houses with real basements, garages and yards make staging and dust control easier than in an apartment building, and most jobs do not involve a board or a managing agent.
Permits and building rules
Staten Island is under the NYC Department of Buildings like the other boroughs, with the Staten Island borough office handling plan review and inspections. Plumbing, gas and structural changes need permits filed by licensed trades, and we coordinate them. Flood-zone rules apply to some low-lying neighborhoods and can affect basement plans.
